A hybrid (greek ὕβριδικά, “a mix”) is an object that combines in itself the qualities of two or more other objects. Today, hybrid forms are applied not only in creating media content, design, architecture, developing new materials and technologies, but also in art.
Not wanting to serve the utilitarian needs of society, art intentionally chooses paradoxical hybridization. Its goal is to direct society’s attention towards new approaches that construe oftentimes controversial visions of the future, not only in aesthetics, but also in communication.
At the exhibition, the viewer will encounter a union of incompatible aesthetics and works which, while sharing the same space, take on a logic of paradox in relation to each other.
